Purchase: $56 at StateLine/PetsMart in 2006, thought my older gelding needed some support and protection in the back.
Likes: Sturdy, well-made. The velcro sticks and holds very well - TOO well, really! Easy to clean, just hose off and scrub with a brush. Bullet-proof sliding patch!
Dislikes: Although I got the correct size for my 15.3 hh gelding, who is NOT big boned at all, these are really hard to fit and appear almost too small around the fetlock. The bottom part needs to be wrapped around, and doesn't reach around properly, and can't be fastened easily. When done up, they seem too tight, and I'm concerned about tendon damage. There are several velcro straps that all stick to each other and to the boot, so it's a struggle to put the boot on and take it off. Although the design principle is sound, it's difficult to apply correctly. A diagram illustrating exactly how it should be positioned would be helpful, since it's a complicated contraption.
Quality: Excellent quality and construction. Totally indestructible.
Summary: Maybe a different brand would have fit my horse better. These boots might be better suited to a heavier-boned, smaller horse than mine. I'm not really using these much because of the difficulty in putting them on and getting them to fit properly, so will likely sell them.
