Purchase: These boots were purchased from Dover Saddlery for 65.00 plus shipping. I bought these boots for my then 7 year old daughter. She just needed something comfortable that fit. She also wanted boots that could be worn to scout camp etc., so we chose these over a more traditional paddock boot.
Likes: My daughter liked these boots because they looked and felt more like a sneaker and were waterproof. They arrived comfy from the start and needed no breaking in. They also REALLY protect her feet when her naughty pony steps on her. These boots have been worn daily for almost two YEARS and are still in great shape, even after being worn for summer camp, bike riding, pony baths (lots of baths, white pony- what was I thinking!), mucking stalls, and general dirty kid abuse. They are easy to keep clean and have great traction.
Dislikes: I bought these boots one half size too big to allow room for growing. Unfortunately, these boots run at least one full size larger than marked. I should have returned them for a smaller size, but my daughter refused to miss another lesson, so she had clown feet for a while! Other than the sizing issues, my only other dislike would be that the uppers are more substantial than normal paddock boots from the extra padding and are tough to fit under regular half chaps and cuffed jods.
Quality: These are extremely well made, absolutely no complaints! I can't believe how much abuse they've taken without wearing out. **Two years** later they are still in nice enough condition to pass along to another child.
Summary: My daughter loves, loves, loves these boots. These are definitely whine-proof footwear and well worth the money.
