Purchase: I got the Circle Y Shawnee saddle on trial from Used-Saddles.com. I loved this saddle from the minute I saw it. They have it for $1395, which includes a headstall and the breast collar.
Likes: I really liked the fact it was lightweight, and it felt like it was already broken in from the moment I sat in it.
Dislikes: I have a 16.3 hand high withered paint, and this saddle just didn't work for us. It fit him fine when I first put it on him, and it looked like it was going to work out, but after I cantered around the arena a few times, the tree had spread and was almost sitting on his withers.
Quality: I really like the leather, and the fact that it didn't squeak like most other new saddles, but the tree just kind of ruined it for me. When it got warmer, the tree seemed to flex more.
Summary: Overall, I really like the look of this saddle, but the Flex tree just doesn't work for horses with high withers. I was very disappointed, and ended up sending it back. I wish they would make this saddle in a regular tree.
