Purchase: This saddle was a gift from my dad for my 25th birthday. I've seen it advertised from $850 - $1400. So I do not know how much my dad paid.
Likes: I like that it is a combination barrel and roping saddle just for us girls! It's got beautiful basket-shell tooling as well as hand carved Carlos border tooling. The roughout seat keeps you in the saddle and balanced. I am a petite girl so I needed the 14", it's a perfect fit.
Dislikes: I'm petite, only 5'1" 105 pounds. Sometimes I think this saddle weighes as much as me. I'm usually fine handling it, but after along day I can barely pick it up. I wish it were lighter.
Quality: I didn't know how to answer this question so here is what a website said about the construction. Features include a natural gold finish, roughout seat jockey and fenders for more "stay in the saddle", cut-away skirts, rawhide cantle with stainless lacing, daily horn with rawhide binder and Latigo wrap, wide 13 swells and hand laced rawhide bell stirrup.
Summary: They advertise this to be perfect for tha all around cowgirl and I agree. I rope and do barrels, among may other things, but this saddle is the 'jack of all trades' for women's saddles. highly recommended.
