Purchase: I bought this saddle used at a local tack shop for $375 with a pad a girth. The reason i bought it was out of desperation; i couldn't find ANYTHING to fit my TB.
Likes: I love this saddle!! I went through SOOO many saddles looking for one that would fit my mare. Although she doesn't have unusual conformation, she is super sensitive and any saddle that bridges slightly on her causes her to get fast and nervous. The 1st time i rode in this saddle my mare was mellow and level headed and she has remained content with this saddle ever since. It's like a miracle! I thought i would have to get her a custom saddle (yikes!) but this has worked out great.
From a rider's point of view, it's also very comfortable, has a million dees, and easy-care.
Dislikes: It's not an english saddle :-(
Quality: The quality is good for the the price. Actually, better than expected for the price but it's no show-stopper. It is safe, comfortable, fits well, not twisted or uneven, and my horse likes it! It does run small, my horse is a medium build TB and i am on the slim side as well. The saddle that worked for us both was a 16" regular QH tree (i would not have guessed this would work).
Summary: Bottom line is: This saddle is awesome! I am not a western rider, i only bought this saddle because it fit my horse when nothing else did, but it turns out, i really like this saddle as well. It is very secure, well-balanced for a western saddle, has a bunch of dees, and no horn! I would definitely recommend this saddle and buy another one for myself, if the need arose.
