Purchase: Price $119 at Dover. I wanted a close contact pad that I could use both in the show ring and at the barn, schooling.
Likes: This pad is made up of both sheepskin and quilting. The sheepskin is fitted so that it falls directly under the saddle at the withers and pressure points of the horse's back, there is also sheepskin at the trim of of the pad. Under the saddle flaps the pad is quilted allowing a closer contact for the rider. The pad comes in a natural (cream) color. This pad makes you feel like you're riding on a cloud. The first time I used I sank into the saddle and the ride was very quiet. I also use ThinLine pads on my horse - a 17.2 hand Oldenburg, we compete at levels 3 - 7 jumping and I like to be able to add extra padding when he might be feeling a little tight. The ECP pad is perfect for this. The quality is great, it looks wonderful and I can easily use it at home and in the show ring (I use a baby pad under it to keep it a bit cleaner). The pad is machine washable, I just brush it off and let it dry out at the barn then wash it before a show.
Dislikes: There is nothing about the pad that I don't like, except it is a bit expensive, but in the long run, worth it.
Quality: Made of Australian Merino Sheepskin and quilted cotton.
