Likes: Looked like a comfortable saddle
Dislikes: First I was unimpressed with the look of this saddle, very plain and didn't look that comfortable in person, stiff. Fit my horse fine, but after an hour started to become very uncomfortable for me in the crotch area. Returned the saddle and was told the High Plains isn't recommended for men, that the rise had a narrow twist and wasn't the best choice. Wish they had told me this before I bought this saddle.
Quality: Decent, but I thought was way overpriced for the amount of workmanship that goes into it, my wife rides a Billy Cook (Oklahoma) roping saddle and compared to that there was no comparison, hers is gorgeous fully tooled, rawhide, silver very comfortable and was $300 less than the Tucker. Billy Cook doesn't make ropers in 17" (without custom ordering it) or I would have gotten one of those.
Summary: Overall I was disappointed in the price the comfort and quality of this saddle, dealer tried to sell me the CHeyenne but after my experience with the High Plains I didn't even try. Is it just me or are these saddles the most over-rated on the market?
