Purchase: This saddle was purchased for my 6 yr old daughter to ride in. We got it brand new but it was an older model that has since been discontinued. I paid $650 for it from an online tack store.
Likes: I love the position that the saddle puts my child in. It seats her right where she needs to be and she is confident and comfortable in it. I am also very happy with the fit of this saddle which has been used on a number of horses ranging from a Welsh Cob pony, Arabian, Tennessee Walker and a Belgian and it has fit them all fine with only a minor padding adjustment for the aged Arabian.
Dislikes: The only thing I don't like is that the flap is of a thicker embossed cowhide and it was barely broke in after being used regularly for 2.5 years. The grip was fine but I personally like the softer leather that is more in trend now. In all fairness this saddle was built to take abuse and I have no doubt that it can and will take many more years of use still looking good.
Quality: I'm very pleased with the price point and fit for a young rider. I wish more childrens saddles had the stability that this one has. Everything about this saddle speaks of its quality. The leather is supple, all hardware shows no signs of rust or damage, well padded and designed perfectly for a youngster.
Summary: I would buy this saddle again any day for a young rider. It's a great starting out saddle of quality and was worth the investment.
