Purchase: I bought this helmet from State Line for $35 (I round up) because my last helmet didn't fit at all and was falling apart.
Likes: I like the fact that this helmet is light and keeps your head cool on summer days riding in a hot, dusty ring. The dial fit lets you wear hats in the winter.
Dislikes: This is my third Spirit helmet. Basically, they last for one direct hit in a fall and that's it. This helmets moves a lot when you ride and so makes me a little nervous. It used to be no big deal, but I recently got a nasty concussion when a horse hit me in the head out in the pasture. Now I'm taking better care of my noggin and looking closely at my helmets. One thing that I HATE about this helmet is that the back ends like half way down your head, giving very little protection if you land on your back and you head snaps back. When that happens your head is hitting an uneven surface, making things worse.
Quality: Like I said, this helmet cracks after one fall and scratches easily. The chin strap also comes lose no matter how often you tighten it. It looks good at first but things go down hill pretty quick.
Summary: This not a safe a helmet. It will do for maybe once a week rides, but if you like your head, spend the extra bucks and get a decent helmet
