Purchase: I bought this blanket used from a friend for $90. They are over $250 new in stores and quite rare in the US.
Likes: I think this blanket is the smartest piece of horse clothing I own. It has amazing wicking properties. I can give my horse a hot bath in the winter and leave him in a stall with this blanket on and know that he will be dry when I come back an hour later to put on his stable rug. It pulls away sweat/water from your horse and puts it on the outside of the wool. You can see the moisture molecules on the outside of the blanket, but when you slide your hand under it, your horse is completely dry and smooth, not sticky at all. After riding you can feel the difference when you run your hand along your horses neck that was uncovered and your horse's back that was covered by the blanket.
Dislikes: They only thing that I don't like about this blanket is that you are supposed to dry-clean it only. I just dry clean it once at the end of the season and it isn't a big deal. It is completely worth it.
Quality: It is very well made with a leather buckle at the front. the wool seems to mold yo my horse so that it never slides around. It would be extremely hard for your horse to rip this blanket, seeing how thick it is.
Summary: I think this is definitely worth the $250 it costs. It saved me about an hour of rubbing and cooling down my horse this winter after every ride. Occasionally you can find one used on eBay, but be careful to find one that is 100% pure virgin wool. Also the newmarket look-alikes made by rambo are made of fleece and aren't very useful.
