Purchase: I enjoy schooling my horses in Dressage and love to do extensive trail riding in the pacific northwest mountains. I purchased a used Windsor Elite dressage saddle from a local tack shop.I thought this saddle would be a good daily rider.I paid $900.00 for it.
Likes: I loved the spring tree! It moves with your horse which in turn makes you feel like your floating in unison.The elk leather seat is so soft and comforting and causes no soreness on a day long trail ride.The V billet system keeps the saddle perfectly aligned.
Dislikes: The elk leather seat. It does scratch easily and I don't suggest wearing jeans with a crotch seam as it will leave an impression and fabric scars on the seat. I wound up getting On course breeches which fixed the problem.Even the buffalo leather on the flaps rubbed badly with a new set of Tod Summers leathers! Kind of an easy to scratch saddle.
Quality: Construction was awesome! Extremely well made saddle and very lightweight.Super craftsmanship.A+++ all the way!
Summary: I loved the deep seat and knee rolls while schooling. Hated the knee rolls when trail riding as they made it difficult for me to stand up on my horse on a steep hill climb.I had a medium tree and it seemed to fit a wide range of horses of all sizes and types.
