Purchase: Found this headstall on E-Saddlery.com (an absolutely WONDERFUL site with great prices and huge, unique selection of real quality show gear) and paid $229. Wanted something elegant and ferruled, with attractive silver, on a $250 budget. I'd never encountered this brand in person, so i was somewhat scared when I ordered it, but I'm tremendously happy that I did.
Likes: The silver is beautifully done and doesn't flake off like my Circle Y show headstall. Obviously, I haven't tested its durability to the extreme, but it's been used at several shows and has held up beautifully. It also works well for hanging a bosal.
Dislikes: No complaints about this headstall, except that I can't find more suppliers that carry this brand! The elegant shape of this headstall doesn't match my new filly's personality, and I'd love to find the perfect design with the same brand.
Quality: Silver plate, with smooth engraving, not scratchy like the cheap stuff. the ferrules are strung tight and secure. Leather is good quality.
Summary: This headstall fit my budget and passed my inspection, and I am an extremely picky shopper. The design was the perfect one for my mare and has done its part in making a number of other horses look good for photos and the show ring.
