Category: Dressage Saddles
Purchase: I ordered this from VTOSaddlery.com (which, by the way, is THE BEST place) for about $1300.
Likes: Nice deep seat, substantial knee rolls and thigh blocks, fairly comfortable. Courbette has been around for a long time and has a good reputation so I felt it would be a good quality saddle.
Dislikes: It didn't fit my horse. I had a saddle fitter come out to look at it, and told her about the "flexible tree" or the E-Motion tree. She said that extra flexible trees are AWFUL for horse's backs...they can actually disconnect the skin from the muscle (or something equally as horrifying). It was also too tight on his shoulders but too low on his withers, so it was almost as if it was too big AND too small at the same time.
Quality: Pretty good. Leather on the flaps seems very cheap, but I have a Courbette bridle and I know the leather softens up really nicely.
Summary: I was disappointed in this saddle. It didn't fit my horse and it wasn't very well balanced.
Usefulness Rating: 2.5 out of 5.
