Purchase: I had a difficult time finding a saddle to fit my foundation bred QH mare. She is all of 14.1 hands and built to the hilt. I tried several saddles and had them fitted by trainer. I could not find a saddle that wouldn't pinch her in the wither area. My Trainer was realling pushing the Cowboy Tack saddle, which is beautiful, comfortable and fit my horse but I didn't want to pay more for my saddle then I paid for my horse. I found a website www.silveradosaddlery.com and spoke to a very nice man who suggested a try a Bobs Custom, when it arrived I didn't care for it so I sent it back with the advice of my trainer and tried the Mike Boyle model. It fit and I loved it. Cost was $1850 but usually runs $2150.00
Likes: First of all it actually fits all 3 of my horses who are very differant in their confirmation. Next it is a beautiful reining saddle, 3/4 basket stampted with a carmel colored rough out seat. I like the rough out seat because I do work cattle and it helps me stay in it. The seat is double padded so it is comfortable to ride and the stirrups are pretwisted and dready to go.It is a show quality saddle for more than a reasonable price.
Dislikes: the seat could be a little deeper, I think because of the double padding it tends to cut out some of the deepness of the seat.
Quality: It is of better construction and quality then any high end bob custom I have seen.
Summary: Well this should say it all. I bought a new horse approxiately two months ago and he got untied while I was busy with my other horse. He was wearing my new saddle and when he ran off the only thing I thought about was my new saddle going down the road. (I knew he would be fine he would just go back to the barn, which he did)
this saddle is worth it's weight in gold, my trainer has borrowed it from me to show. Thats saying alot about it I believe.
