Purchase: I got my saddle used at Barnard's Saddlery, a local tack shop, for $350. I needed a saddle and this one fit me perfectly and was very well priced.
Likes: I orignally was looking for a saddle like a Crosby, but a friend of mine told me about Collegiate and when I saw one at the tack shop, I immediately tried it. Although the saddle was at least 2-3 years old already, it was in absolutely perfect condition. It was the most comfortable saddle that i have ever sat in, beating all the super expensive that have been forced upon me. I have had it for about 4 years now and it is still holding strong, nothing broken, and in great condition.
Dislikes: I have to say, there is nothing i don't like about the saddle. I know that it is only worth about $850 new, but for such a reasonable price this saddle is amazing. it's no Crosby, but it's close.
Quality: The saddle has asjustable gullet straps, which is perfect for the many different horses that people ride and if you own a few different horses, it is perfect. My friend's horse is an extremely hard fit and even he fits in my saddle. The quality is amazing, i never expected to have my saddle this long, but like i always say, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." My saddle is in amazing condition and it is probably one of the nicest saddles to look at because it looks worn in and comfortable, not stiff and new.
Summary: I absolutely think that this saddle is perfect for a new rider or one short on cash. new or used the saddle is well priced and very good quality. It breaks in quickly and easily, and stays in good condition for amazing amounts of time.
