Purchase: Purchased through the great folks at VTO on line, $180.
Likes: Like other "flex" stirrups the MDC Ultimate stirrups flex (are jointed) at the base of each iron, but in addition to the flex, these stirrups can be moved to angle at 45 and 90% - of course you can ride in them like any normal stirrup. These stirrups give you more control and ease the tension on your ankle and foot. I rode in them on the flat and over fences - plus at the trot dropping them for a few strides then pick them up again - they were easy at the 45% angle to find and that gives the rider a greater sense of security over fences, should you loose an iron during your ride. They're good and heavy and drop well into the leathers.
Dislikes: $180 is expensive but competitive with other brands - but these irons have the added mobility.
Quality: Well made, heavy iron, nice rubber pad and flex joints.
Summary: If you like the other brand(s) of flex stirrups - try these and get the added security and mobility.
