Purchase: I purchased this pad from aretesaddlery.com for $150.
Likes: Great quality, dense soft sheepskin with a spinal chanel cut in it, and the inserts worked perfect! I bought this pad to aid in saddle fitting for a gelding who needed to build a lot of topline muscle. The shims worked very well to compensate as his back changed in training.
Dislikes: It would be nice if there were three shims instead of just two, so you could fill in for bridging in the middle of the saddle. As it is, there is just front and rear shims, that meet in the middle, similar to the Mattes correction pad.
Quality: Very nice construction. The sheepskin is soft and dense, and did not mat down with use. It washed very nicely with sheepskin wash.
Summary: This is a great pad for horses with changing topline or that have minro saddle fit issues. Horses with sensitive backs will love this pad! My gelding is very touchy and he really seemed to enjoy work more with this pad.
