Purchase: I got this sheet for a young filly who needed a smaller size; Brookside was one of the few waterproof turnout sheets I could find for her. I ordered it from Valley Vet Supply and paid around $65 for it several years ago. I can't remember the exact price.
Likes: Not much
Dislikes: It is not very well designed. It didn't fit very well - it was fine for length but too binding around the chest. I HATE those round rings and clips they have for the surcingles - they struck me as a great opportunity for the horse to get those rings hooked on something. The surcingles themselves were WAY to long and I could not safely shorten them so that they didn't dangle dangerously low beneath her belly. The tail flap is stuck on with velcro and after a few weeks would not stay on after getting a little dirt in the velcro (trying to clean it didn't help) Also the lining of the sheet ripped easily after only a month or so of use, and to top it all off the waterproofing was gone after one year of use. Compared to the Weatherbeetas I'd always used, this sheet was a huge waste of money.
Quality:
Poor. The lining ripped, the tail flap would not stay put, the waterproofing was shoddy and the surcingles were badly designed. And this filly is NOT hard on her clothing. I replaced this sheet with a Weatherbeeta as she grew a bit and that sheet has held up perfectly fine after three years of use.
Summary: I was not impressed with Brookside at all and would not recommend them.
