Purchase: After buying and trying a minimun of 8+ saddles for my horse, I finally threw the towel in and decided to hire a saddle fitter to examine my horse and help me determine the tree size I needed to buy. When he came out, I had made it perfectly clear I was not interested in buying a saddle from him since I already had acquired enough to start my own business...I merely needed to know what size to look for since none of the sizes I bought seemed to fit. It was determined my horse needed a 36cm tree and he did happen to have one with him and wanted to know if I wanted to just try riding in it to see how it felt. Since I wasn't planning on buying it, I had nothing to loose so I said sure! I obviously DID NOT own a saddle that large...34 cm was the largest I had bought and thought it was to big for my horse! Rule number 1....hire a saddle fitter...it's the best thing you can buy for you and your horse and it will save you time and money! So the saddle fitter pulled out a Companion 2 Foxhunter saddle by Duett and fit it to my horse and when I sat in it...well, lets just say I knew there was NO WAY he was leaving WITH this saddle! Padded seat, soft buttery leather, comfort...comfort...comfort. It fit like a glove and I wanted a brown saddle but at that point would of bought anything that fit my horse and was comfortable for me...even the color brown matched my horse exactly and I could not have even custom ordered a better saddle for me and my horse. I paid 1179.00 for the saddle. It was WELL WORTH every penny! I would have even paid more! Such a great saddle with a great reasonable price!

Likes: LOVE the comfort, the quality, the style, the color, the deep stitching, the padded seat, the seat is not deep and it's not flat...it's just perfect! Has removable knee and calf blocks that I did remove and I love them off...but great to know I can put them on if I need to. Love that option! On top of it all, it really is a nice looking saddle! The leather is smooth bridle leather and so soft...and I love having brass D rings, it matches the brass on my bridle. I am 100% thrilled with this saddle... and of course, I love the price also!

Dislikes: Have not found anything yet!

Quality: This saddle is a great value and I love the beautiful workmanship and the soft, supple leather. In the short time of owning it, it has formed to me like a glove. The stitching is recessed and that helps reduce wear on it. This saddle was definitely designed with the horse and riders best interest in mind.

Summary: I waisted a lot of time and money trying to find a saddle that would fit my horse and something I liked too! Without the saddle fitter, I never would have bought a saddle that wide. I did stumble upon the Duett saddle on eBay and looked into them but thought they would be to big for my horse! I even contacted Nancy a few times and it was on her web site that I found the saddle fitter that came out to see my horse. I am so HAPPY with the outcome and so VERY HAPPY with my Duett Companion 2 Foxhunter saddle. At one time, I was so obsessed with finding a saddle that I would sit for hours on the internet reading about anything and everything. I am now cured and free to go out and ride and enjoy my horse!
