Purchase: I saw these pads at a show in Del Mar I hesitated in making my purchase because of the price. My mistake! I think my first pad cost about $165.
Likes: Christ pads are the best. I would give them a 5+. The pads wash beautifully. the have great wear & tear. Recently, I replaced my first pad after three years. This was not the fault of the pad, but my error. I typically washed the pads with towels and polo wraps. no problem. The dressage pad looked terrific up until I decided to throw in some baking soda... I thought this would just enhance the whitening process. Not exactly. The sheepskin did not do well with the baking soda. I contacted the store where I had purchased the pad and they put me in contact with the distributors. Martha could not have been more generous. She offered me a replacement pad at a fair discount.
I have given these pads as gifts to my friends, trainer & vet! In turn they gave me the bareback pad & girth. It's like sitting on a big cushion. Good for you & good for your horse.
Yes, the cost of one is not inexpensive, but you will never want to use your old pads again, and you will not waste money on less expensive replacements.
I use this pad for a young DWB. he is healthy and strong. I used it for my young but broken down thoroughbred. I am convinced there is not a better pad for any horse or rider. enjoy!
Dislikes: There is not much about this pad that I do not like. I have to agree with the posted review. It costs a lot!
Quality: The quality of the construction justifies the cost of this pad. If properly maintained (laundered) It should last longer than your saddle!
Summary: My saddle fits better, it stays in place better and it is more comfortable for my horse and me.
