Purchase: I got this item new from eBay from a retailer's overstock. So, I think I got them for like $30 shipped. They are slightly more from a store, but are very reasonably priced for zip-up tall boots!
Likes: These boots fit great and are extremely comfortable! Despite the fact that they are synthetic, my feet and legs don't get too hot or sweaty(there is a "moisture wicking lining"... and it actually works!). Also, believe it or not these boots WILL break in, although when I got them I was skeptical because they're synthetic. The first few times I worse them they rubbed a bit and were stiff, but after only a couple wears they were the most comfortable boots I'd ever worn. Also, they are extremely easy to clean and obviously the zipper is a huge help for getting them on and off.
Dislikes: The calf shaping is a little large, making the leg look fuller than it would in a boot without a zip, but that seems to be a common thing in most zip-up boots and not just this brand. The foot runs a tad narrow, and I have average size feet (that is, I never have to buy wide shoes or anything), but again, many boots tend to. Also, I like wrinkles in the ankles of my boots, and these boots will not develop wrinkles (of course, that could be a good thing depending on your opinion).
Quality: Excellent quality so far! The zipper on one boot sticks a little more than the other, but is not enough to concern me, although the zipper probably could be a little more robust. The "Equistar" stickers on the inside of the boots are worthless and will certainly fall off rather soon, but aren't in any way important to the boots. The material is sturdy and is holding up very well.
Summary: The boots are great! I would recommend them to anyone; they certainly can't be beat for the price! I have gotten a lot of compliments on how they look, and they are very comfortable. They appear very leather-like (although don't feel leather like), and people comment on my "new boots" even though I've had them for a long while (when clean, the synthetic material looks like brand new leather... all the time!). They are a modern design, and save a lot of cleaning and buffing time. I feel they are suitable for competition, and are certainly perfect for schooling or daily use.
