Purchase: I bought this bit for $27 dollars at State Line Tack because I needed a real bit (as opposed to a hackamore) for my quite spirited Arabian.
Likes: I love the ability to switch back and forth between the top slot (which serves like a regular snaffle) and the bottom slot (which has much more leverage and power). My mare has times when she is calm and relaxed and doesn't need a harsher bit. Likewise, she has times she is quite the little Kentucky Derby Horse and needs something strong without hurting her mouth. I also love riding in this bit because, during endurance races, I need a strong bit for the start, but a mild bit for the end. While racing, I don't have the time or (quite frankly) the energy to change bits. This bit serves my needs perfectly both while racing and jumping.
Dislikes: My only dislike about this unit is the curb chain. The chain itself works beautifully but is very long and the tail end has a tendency to flap. This flapping can be slightly annoying while cantering, but doesn't seem to bother my horse much.
Quality: I have had this bit for a year and a half, and I cleans well and is made well.
Summary: This is a great bit for someone who needs a versatile bit that will keep their horse's mouth in good shape.
