Purchase: My husband talked me into running my 19 year old gelding (who I haven't ran since last year mind you) in the Utah Summer Games in barrels and poles. I've been wanting to get a orthopedic pad for him, but hadn't found one I liked. On the way to the arena, we stopped at a local Cal-Ranch store to look before I had to run. I found the Pro's choice Orthopedic air ride saddle pad, and since I've had one pair of SMBII boots for OVER 7 years, I thought I'd try it. It wasn't exactly what I was looking for, but I bought it anyway because I trust the Pro's Choice name. I paid, with tax, $164.44.
Likes: This saddle pad is so light that I was very reluctant to buy it. I thought because there was not much bulk to it, it would do more harm than my old wool pad. I used it to run that night and ended up placing 2nd in 1D poles and 2nd in the 3D barrels. Not bad for fresh off the pasture! The pad seemed to be very comfortable for my horse and is very attractive to boot!
Dislikes: The only thing I don't like is that I bought a size that is too big, but thats my fault!
Quality: If these pads are anything like their sport boots, I'll have this pad for years to come! It seems to be put together very well, i've only had it a handful of rides, even on my very green broke 2 year old, but its doing great, I don't expect any problems! I've already won back the $164 plus from just one night of competing. I say its worth every cent!
Summary: This is the absolute best saddle pad that I have ever owned in my life. It makes riding comfortable for my older gelding and that is the very best thing I could ask for. This pad is worth every cent, if not more than what I paid for it. I will purchase more pads in the future! Professionals choice is a awesome company with fabulous products that are well worth the money if you want tough products for tough competition!
