Purchase: My husband ordered this saddle for Christmas, 2005, for me from Casa Dosa which specializes in gaited horses and tack, especially the Paso Fino breed. The tree has been especially designed by trainer, Larry Whitesell, for the shorter backs of the Paso Fino and has the right twist to encourage gait. There is no other tree with this design that I know of.
The saddle is well made and has several options of color, seat material, lining, etc. The saddle will be here and in good shape when I'm not. The price is about $1695.
Likes: I like the quality, where the rigging is, where the stirrups hang, and the FIT.
Dislikes: I'm a little short, a little old, and a little weaker than I used to be. The saddle is somewhat heavy, but if it weren't the quality wouldn't be there. I'd like for them to try to make a part synthetic one to lighten it up! I'd buy one tomorrow.
Quality: Great quality, heavy-duty construction.
Summary: It's hard to fit Paso Fino horses with regular saddles, so this is a much needed
improvement in trees.
