Purchase: I bought my passier in a "near new" condition from a local used-tack dealer. I paid 1000 Euro for the saddle and got a pair of brand new dressage stirrup leathers within the price.
Likes: I tried many saddles, including two other passier models and soon decided that I wanted a passier for myself. Compared to other popular saddles, passiers offer far the best contact with the horses back. Optimum has got a shorter knee block than other saddles, which helps me place my leg in a correct position without my ankle hanging way below the horse's belly. The saddle helps me maintain correct position without restricting my movement. Sitting correctly doesn't come completely effortless, but I feel much better in this saddle than in other more supporting models, although I'm not an experienced dressage rider.
Dislikes: Nothing. I love this saddle.
Quality: The construction of my optimum is optimal for both me and my TB. I'm a long-legged person and this model is great for such riders. My horse also loved this saddle right from the start, moving freely under it. I also noticed a remarkable improvement in the way he carries his head and neck. The saddle is light-weighed, very well built and remains ideally stable during the ride. My horse is very sensitive in his back so the saddle must be really good for him since he works so well under it. The quality of the leather is superb, like in all passier models.
Summary: The saddle isn't cheap with NP around 2100 Euro. You can buy good saddles cheaper, but once you try a passier you probably won't shop for another saddle. It compromises excellent construction with great comfort for the horse and rider and superior quality of the whole unit. What to want more from a saddle?
