Purchase: I got this saddle from Rick's heritage Saddlery for $1200. I really recommend this place to everyone who doesn't necessarily have the funds to buy a new saddle. They carry many demo saddles (which was what mine was) that are practically brand new.
Likes: The leather on the flaps has stayed scratch free. Even after 2 to 3 rides a day it is still in perfect condition. Another thing i like are the short billets (new you can get them with long). This way I can use the same girth for my jumping saddle. The seat is very comfortable and the knee rolls are not huge so you can maintain your leg position. One thing I really like about this saddle is the high wither clearance. I have used it on a narrow backed thoroughbred to a wider quarter pony with just an adjustment in saddle pads.
Dislikes: The one thing i don't like is that the flap is more forward (than I'm used to). Although it isn't a lot when I first got it I thought it was all- purpose. This small dislike has no real affect on your position or your ride.
Quality: The leather is very supple. It only took one or two rides to break it in. The billets have stayed in good condition and haven't stretched much. All of the stitching has stayed in tact w/o fringing or wearing down.
Summary: All in all I really like this saddle and recommend it to someone on a tight budget b/c you can get it used and it still looks brand new. I wish I could rate it a 4.7 but I guess that's not an option...
