Category: Dressage Saddles
Purchase: I purchased my Romanus off ebay for about $450, which can be risky, but I lucked out. This saddle is fantastic, even my horse says so.
Likes: Stubben saddles look so classy, and this model is one of the handsomest. It has clean lines and feels equally uncomplicated when riding. It rides very close contact compared to some other dressage saddles, and is well-balanced. The seat is just deep enough and the twist not too wide. It sits just right on my horse, too.
Dislikes: The seat leather has faded some, looks more grey now than black. Personally I like the color, but may not be as flash and snappy at a show.
Quality: All around very high craftsmanship, the flocking holding up well, beautiful stitching. This saddle will last and is relatively easy care due to the quality grain of the leather and construction.
Summary: If you get a chance to buy a Romanus, don't pass it up. Stubben knows how to put together a wonderful saddle.
