Purchase: I special ordered this saddle through Stone Creek Saddles in London, KY and paid close to $900.00 for the saddle, bridle, reins, and breast collar with everything having brass fittings.
I heard people talk about how good the saddles rode and I have a hard time finding one that rides great so I thought I would try this one. I am totally glad I did! I will never use anything else!
Likes: This saddle is amazing! It is extremely light and very well made. The seat is totally amazing, it is like riding on air. The leather quality is fantastic. Everything is very soft, and pliable. Very forgiving all the way around. None of that fighting with the leggings to get your feet and ankles in the happy zone.
We have gaited horses, so I am not sure what the ride would be like on a non-gaited horse.
Dislikes: I can't say I have found anything about it I don't like.
Quality: Excellent quality every place you look! The stitching is fantastic, the leather is to die for, and the look is amazing. Everywhere I go people ask me about it.
Summary: I definitely recommend the Eli Miller's to everyone. The only other saddle I had that comes close to it was a Crates that was made back in the good old days before they were bought out and became junk. A Crates like that is mighty heavy though.
I will never ride anything else. If I do, I just feel like I have gotten out of my Lazyboy and parked my fanny on a five gallon bucket.
We have gaited horses, so I am not sure what the ride would be like on a non-gaited horse. I will find out this weekend though, I am riding my trusty Saddlebred on wagon train. :)
