Purchase: I purchased these boots at Greenhawk for approximately $40 in CDN funds. I acquired these boots as I needed a pair of ankle boots for some schooling shows, and some that wouldn't rip on the seams after some use.
Likes: I like these boots because the neoprene lining is very soft and cushioning. Also, the neoprene is rolled and stitched over to create a more elegant overall appearance. The velcro is one strap across the front with, like the open fronts, a piece of velcro that goes over top of that so that the boots are more securely in place. The outside shell is nice and hard to protect against knocks and knicks. It also comes in a variety of colours to suit everyone and every horse colour! They come in two sizes to fit each pony and horse appropriately.
Dislikes: I think this boot should be able to come in a sheepskin lining as well as the neoprene to suit each horse. I did purchase these boots for my sensitive thoroughbred, but I would have preferred the sheepskin. I think the price could have been cheaper, as these are not high-end competition boots. They get the job done, but you won't see Grand Prix riders with them!
Quality: This item is well constructed with all around protection. The velcro is very secure and seems to last well. The elastic is 3-ply, and allows a custom front fit for each horse. The neoprene lining is very soft with lots of padding, and is nicely rolled and stitched over.
Summary: Overall these boots would make well for everyday schooling or low-key shows. They are well built and are perfect for jumping. A custom fit and ease of movement are some factors that make this boot perfect for the amateur.
