Model: Horse and Pony Fly Spray
Category: Fly Control
Purchase: I bought a gallon, and it leaked on the receipt before I got home, so I am not sure what I paid for it. It was around $30. I purchased it at Orschelns in Concordia, KS.
Likes: Is seems to work quite well.
Dislikes: I made the mistake of putting too much on my horses and two of them had a bad reaction. As soon as I noticed, I called the vet and he said to wash them with soap, any kind, and wash them every day for a few days. Give them some bute or banamine paste for the pain. He also said that that is common with all oil based fly sprays. It can give them a chemical burn, if too much is put on.
Summary: I have continued to use this product, very carefully. I mostly spray their legs and not so much on their backs. Sun beating down on them with the chemicals make it worse. It's easier to put the right amount on them with a wooly fleece mitten. You just put the spray on the mitten and wipe it on their hair, and don't let it penetrate to the skin.
