Purchase: I bought this saddle from State Line Tack for $624 about three years ago because I was looking for a comfortable English saddle to fit my mule -- I wasn't sure what size tree to buy.
Likes: This saddle needed no breaking in, it was very comfortable from the first ride. The Equileather and Equisuede have both held up very well with very few marks at all. The color is very generic, it matches almost all the tack that I've bought to go with it. On other Wintec saddles, the billets are synthetic and cause bulk under the leg, but on the Wintec 2000 the leather billets break in very well. My saddle has CAIR panels, which I highly recommend.
Dislikes: I wish this saddle came in long flap -- my knees hang off the edges. My saddle is a 16.5" and I'm 5'8" and, even though it doesn't bother me and it's still comfortable it's kind of annoying. It's also hard to change the gullets, you need a screwdriver and it's rather time-consuming.
Quality: This saddle is incredibly durable, but I wish it was easier to change the gullets.
Summary: The Wintec 2000 is definitely not the most luxuriant saddle, but it is durable, practical and super-comfortable. I've been using it for three years for flat work, showing, schooling cross country, jumping at home and basic dressage.
