Purchase: This saddle was purchased through Stateline Tack for $600.00. I needed a new saddle due to the fact that my horse and myself have 'matured' and my old Simco did not fit either of us.
Likes: The Simco Deluxe Trail Saddle is a comfortable saddle for trail riding.
Dislikes: I found the materials to be of lesser quality than my old Simco. It has the appearance of a cheap made saddle.
Quality: The construction appears to be good but the poor quality of the materials overrides good construction. The dye appears to have been sprayed on rather than actually dyed into the leather. There is dye on the D rings. The leather on the bottom of the stirrups is loose and when slid to one side one can clearly see undyed leather there.
Summary: I am truly disappointed in this saddle. It doesn't come close to being the saddle our older Simco is. Considering the low quality leather used........the saddle is overpriced. We are selling this saddle and hope to recover a good portion of our purchase price and reinvest in a saddle of better quality.
