Purchase: I purchased this pad directly from the CSI website about 2 months ago. With tax and shipping I paid about $300.00. This pad was recommended to me by an equine message therapist. She said it was a good pad that reduced pressure points from the saddle.
Likes: I really liked several things about this pad. First, the underside of the pad is made from a crushed cell foam that was not to stiff like neoprene yet provided excellent support. I also like the fact that the liner is removable for cleaning. I think the most impressive feature is the the CSI Flex-Plate. The plate is designed to compensate for the typical saddle pressure points by dispersing the downward force through a series of plates and "fingers" until it is dissipated over a large area and less likely to interfere with performance or cause soreness.
Dislikes: I haven't found one thing I don't like about this pad.
Quality: The construction and quality of this pad is truly top notch. I cringed a bit when I saw the price, but when the pad arrived I was very impressed. It is very durable and easy to maintain. It fits nicely under a variety of saddle as well, where as some pad just don't look right under certain saddles.
Summary: Bottom line, I would recommend this pad to anyone who is as concerned about the comfort of their horse. There is no such thing as a perfect fitting saddle; so a quality pad is a must. This pad meets and exceeds my expectations for a comfortable ride for me and my equine bud!
