The saddle was purchased through National Bridle Shop in Tennessee. This saddle is made specificly for Tennessee Walking Horses. The saddle costs around $1650.00 less fittings. I was in the market for a new cutback since my 25yr. old Blue Ribbon was warn out!
It is made of water buffalo hide that is as soft as glove leather and had a finish that provides grip even when the rider is wearing slick gabardine show jods. The seat is deep and provides the most secure seat I have ever ridden. It also fits beautifully on my horse. Her gait has improved since I started using this saddle.
Likes:
This is the most comfortable saddle I have ever ridden. The water buffalo leather in as soft as glove leather and provides a surface that grips like suade yet has a smooth surface. It is also very durable and does not seem to scratch as easily as conventional saddle leather. My horse has improved in her gait since I started using this saddle.
Dislikes:
The only thing I don't like is that the billets are very short. Plan on needing a longer girth!
Quality:
The saddle is made in England and has the excellent workmanship I would expect. It is an attractive saddle and very durable. It is built to last.
Summary:
I would recommend this saddle to anyone but I feel it has special qualities for a rider who bay have balance od weakness problems. The deep seat combined with the "tacky " grip the leather provides gives an exceptionally secure seat!
