Purchase: I purchased a new Wintec Isabell dressage saddle with CAIR and gullet change kit from Crazy Horse Tack for $1000, also including Wintec pro webbers, a great deal. The equisuede is nice and grippy, and I like the ability to change gullet sizes for different horses. However, the more different saddles I rode in, the more I realized that I didn't like the wide twist of the Isabell. Also, I am not sure I like the CAIR system: when you depress one area the air simply "pooches out" in another area. A traditional flocked saddle seems to me to absorb the impact more instead of transferring the pressure to another point.
I just purchased a lightly used Wintec Pro Dressage with changeable gullet system and traditional flocking($495.00 from UsedSaddles.com) I much prefer the narrow twist of this saddle, and I can definitely feel the horse better. My leg is also free to go where I place it, while I felt locked into place by the Isabell and had very little sense of feel of the horse. It is strictly a personal preference, but thought I would write this comparison, since I searched the internet for one, and couldn't find anything written by someone who had owned or extensively ridden in both. I have had the Isabell for 5 months and it shows no significant wear.
I have ordered new semi-custom Albion SLK Ultra for my hard to fit, high withered horse, but I will keep the Wintec Pro for riding other horses.
