Model: Jelly Scrubber
Category: Training Equipment
Purchase: I bought one of these at the Big R in Redmond Oregon in May and then won one at the Ken McNabb clinic the same weekend. I paid 7.00 for the one at the Big R. I bought it because I had borrowed a friend's to try on my horse and she loved it.
Likes: It is super soft and flexible with soft hair like bristles on one side and nubbins on the other. You hand slides into the glove like center giving you a greater flexibility to follow the contours of your horse and get into the real itchy spots. Sis rolled in a hornets nest this summer and the jelly scrubber was the only thing she was comfortable about being brushed with for the two weeks that it took her to heal up. They are easy to clean and disinfect by dipping in a bleach and water solution, with no metal, leather or wood it doesn't hurt them to be left for an hour or two.
Dislikes: It is a little slick to use when it is wet with soap on it. it would be nice if there was a ridge or something to make it easier to hold onto when giving baths.
Quality: Both of mine are of top quality and in use by most of the barn every day. They have replaced all of the brushes for everyday use and except for final brush up at shows. I have been very impressed and I like the variety of colors.
Summary: I have tried a number of rubber/plastic combs and brushes and these are the most useful and best quality that I have run into. I plan on getting two more, one for each grandchild.
Usefulness Rating: 0 out of 5.
