Purchase: I sat on this saddle at Beval in New Cannan, CT and I thought I was in love. I looked everywhere to find one within my means and eventually found a website that lists consignment saddles. I tried the PJ from usedsaddles.com - asking price was $2,300.
Likes: The deep seat and balloon panels made me feel really secure when I sat on the saddle at the tack shop. Also, I thought the balloon panels would help me keep my leg closed.
Dislikes: I did send the saddle back. Two things were an issue. One is very nit-picky - the billets were quite short. I had to buy a girth extender just to make my 52" girth work during the trial period - a first for me! The second is what originally drew me to the saddle. I thought the deep seat would be really comfortable. However, I found I had difficulty posting, half-seating and two-point because the pommel was so high. If you get bumped "there" enough, you may just not want to ride any more.
Quality: The saddle is exceptionally well-made. The one I tried was 10 years old and looked new, just broken in. The leather is very nice, supple, and retained its color (dye / oil).
Summary: If you really like a deep seat, this is a very fine saddle.
