Purchase: I bought this saddle just outside of Toronto, Canada used for my son when he started riding through his coach for $700.00 Canadian Dollars($668.00USD approx.) They seem to retail for a lot more and seem to hold value over time. The saddle apparently had a few other owners who used it on various horses over the years. It was well cared for by the previous owners. Not knowing anything about saddles (new pony mom) I trusted the coach when she said it was a good deal, but I was skeptical. The brand didn't seem to be one of the more popular ones, I thought I should be buying an HDR or Pessoa!
Likes: Well, this saddle has taken my son from his first pony, schooling shows and now the A circuit! We tried to get him to get a new saddle, but he says he has tried other brands his friends have but feels most comfortable with his old Ashland! He wants to buy a newer model, same brand. I don't think I'll get that price again!
Dislikes: Only real drawback seems to be under the flaps where the leather scratches and wears more.
Quality: Fits every horse and pony we have tried it on. Very versatile. It oils back to a beautiful tobacco colour with every cleaning (I clean it so I would know!) and the leather is soooo soft. Leather seems to be of a very high quality and stitches have withstood multiple owners riding almost everyday.
Summary: No dealers in Canada yet, but we will be surfing the net or taking a cross border trip for a Northrun saddle in the near future.
