Purchase: I purchased the saddle (saddles-I've actually purchased 2) through Down Under Saddle Supply. The first saddle (without horn)I bought for regular price which was $875. The second saddle(with horn)I bought for my mother. It had been a display model and was on sale for $500 (down from $945, I believe).
Likes: These are awesome saddles. They are very, very comfortable. I also like the fact that they are light weight and very user-friendly. It takes me about a minute to saddle my horse. Since I'm using mine on a green-broke horse, I like the security offered by the poleys and the nubuck leather. I also like the fact that I can post in this saddle if I choose to. The saddles are extremely good looking to boot.
Dislikes: At first I didn't like the look of the nubuck leather--I preferred the smooth leather. But now that I've felt the additional security offered by the finish, it no longer matters. One thing I don't like is the girth that comes standard with the saddle. I would suggest upgrading to the neoprene endurance (dressage length) girth to help avoid slippage. This girth also has "pockets" for the extra billet length (and there will be extra).
Quality: The saddles are beautiful and well made. If you are unsure of whether to invest in this higher quality saddle over the Kimberly line that Down Under offers, do it. It's worth it.
Summary: These saddles are worth the price. You can ride for hours without getting sore. The people at Down Under are great to deal with. (They have a nice selection of saddle pads also.) Watch their website clearance pages for great deals. They also have monthly specials.
