Purchase: I bought this from equestrianclearance.com for £280 which is the cheapest I could find it! I bought it as my Welsh Cob was proving difficult to fit as he has a 'table-top' back so normal saddles just slipped sideways (which made for an interesting ride!). I also bought it as it had Cair air panels and also a changeable gullet which I thought would be ideal as the cob is still very young and will change shape a lot.
Likes: I didnt think Wintec's looked that comfy until I bought one! It has a lovely wide seat so is very comfortable. I also didnt feel 'perched on top' like I did with other saddles. The pommel isnt too high which really suits cobby no-wither types. The changeable gullet is a great idea meaning I can change the width whenever I like so fantastic for youngsters. Cair air panels make the saddle more comfortable for my horse too as no pressure points. I have done all eventing activities with this saddle easily.
The saddle is also lovely and light so no more aching arms carrying it and Im sure my cob likes it!
Dislikes: The flaps are quite straight cut so more a VSD type saddle. But I find this puts me in a good position even for jumping, as often I feel my legs are right out in front in other cobby wide saddles! It depends on what you like though.
It looks quite nice, but the panels underneath the cantle of the saddle seem to stick out quite a bit in a weird shape - probably to distribute weight over the back better but they dont look very nice.
Quality: It is well made. I dont normally like synethic saddles but this is pretty good. Very easy to keep clean etc. No problems at all with it so far!
Summary: A great saddle at a great price. Probably one of the best out of synthetic saddles. Better than the more expensive Thorowgood range (I know, I have a thorowgood too!). Great fit for cobby types.
