Purchase: We bought this to replace our ageing trailer. Cost about £4250 from a dealer in Inverness (Scotland, UK). We chose the top of the range Ascot Bateson as it matched exactly what we wanted!
Likes: It is very light and easy to tow!
It is white so stays lovely and cool inside on hot days.
The flooring is aluminium so wont rot which is definately a must for us after our last trailer (part wood floor) began to rot through, NOT ideal when your beloved horse is in there! The floors are covered by 2 big matts which can be lifted out to wash really easily. There are also little slots either side at the back of the trailer so pee just flows right out!
I love the big long window at the front as it makes it nice and bright inside.
The lockable tack locker in front is a great idea.
A front ramp was a necessity for us which it has and its of a great design.
Dislikes: The tack locker isnt quite big enough for large saddles. I have to move them about to fit them in properly.
The front grooms door could do with having some sort of catch so it can be held open without smacking you in the wind!!
After some use the clips holding the front ramp and top door closed began to work lose!! At one point we had to stop as one had actually come undone menaing the rop door was at any moment about to swing open! However we contacted Bateson about it and they very kindly send us some clips for free which have sold the problem completely.
Quality: Superb quality. Very very well made. A lot of thought has gone into this trailer. It is definately the best on the market! Far better than the usual Ifor Williams's!
Summary: A brilliant trailer. Really well made and very eays to use. All my horses seem to be enjoy loading into it (including youngsters!) so that must mean its good!
