Purchase: I paid £20 for this at my local tack shop. I bought it for my horse as a treat and also to try to give my youngster something to do (he causes trouble otherwise!) and also to try to stop one horse cribbing so much. I put it out in their field shelter / stable.
Likes: It seemed well fixed to the wall so was secure enough for some rough playing (and rubbing on!).
They loved the banana and cherry kinds of likits more than the more obvious mint and carrot kinds.
It definatley amused them but only for as long as the likits lasted.....
I also found this was excellent for amusing the horse during boring times like for the farrier!!
Dislikes: The likits were IMPOSSIBLE to remove! You have to sort of yank the end plastic container thing out which is very very difficult. One likit also fell out of the holder!!
The ball didnt roll enough! My horse were able to roll it to the right place and as long as they kept their nose on it, it wouldnt move which meant they could actually bite into it!
Sadly the likits didnt last long. One horse loved them so much that he just spend the whole time licking until it was gone (took only about an hour!). The likits just dont last!
One horse who has slight sweet itch decided it was excellent for rubbing on which meant lots of lovely sticky likit candy stuff (pink usually!) in his mane.....
One horse didnt play with it as he just got frustrated! But I guess it depends on your horses character. The more confident horses went mad over it.
Quality: Ok made, safe and secure but the likits dont come out well at all and sometimes they just fall out! The likits also arent big or hard enough as they dont last!
Summary: An ok stable toy. The horse love it, but I just find it annoying they get through the licks so quick to the point I only put them in nown and again as a treat or Id have to supply two every single day!
Some horses wont use it (those who arent that confident or just cant be bothered with the hasstle!).
