Purchase: I have owned three versions of this saddle. bought two of these in havana brown and one in black. One in a medium tree, one in wide (black) and one in extra wide. Bought two new, one from State Line Tack for $555, one from Cheshire Horse for $545 and one used from Equine.com for $400 (black saddle).
Likes: I love this saddle. It comes in an 18 1/2 seat, being 5'10" with a 35" inseam, this allows me to get a saddle that fits for short money. I I found that these saddle stand up well. I am an endurance rider and have ridden 35 miles in this saddle with no ill affects to me or my horse. I use this saddle as my everyday riding saddle and training saddle. I prefer the older model that does not have the adjustable tree, and that model is no longer made. You can find them used all the time for around $300 +/-, a good value for the saddle.
Dislikes: I would like the billet straps to be about 2" longer. Other than that I have no complaints about this saddle.
Quality: The units are well made, the leather is good quality and reasonably soft and supple, but remember, this was a $700 saddle, new, so the leather is not butter soft like you would get on a $2,000 saddle. I have owned the saddles for about 5 years and they wear well. I have no cracks or cuts in the leather, but I condition my saddles about 6 times a year and clean them after each ride.
