Purchase: I bought through the Reactorpanel on-line store in California. I chose it because my horse has scoliosis and her pelvis is crooked. (two inches difference between her right butt cheek and her left!) I tried all kinds of other saddles on her, but because of her "handicap" and her exaggerated gaits, nothing else worked. I became willing to pay $3,000+, (not including Canadian sales tax and customs fees!)
Likes: This saddle is ideal for a severely asymmetrical horse like mine. She now has better movement in her front end, and her "swagger" is totally accommodated by the saddle's moving panels and shock absorbing disks.
Not to mention how comfortable and well-designed the saddle is for me, the rider! It's comfy as your favorite armchair!
p.s. If I ever decide to change horses, this saddle can be adapted to a new horse very easily!
Dislikes: Long-distance fitting for a horse with a handicap is stressful, and sometimes frustrating. On the other hand, everyone at Reactorpanel was extremely understanding and helpful. We succeeded after numerous phone calls and multiple e-mails with photos attached.
(Fitting any normal horse would be a snap!)
Quality: Great, high quality leather. Beautiful design. It will last a lifetime.
Summary: If I hadn't had my little gympy horse, I'd have never paid this amount of money, but now I feel spoiled.
