Purchase: I acquired this noseband from a lady who was selling it used after she got a new horse. Although you can get these nosebands new for approx. $69.95, or almost always om sale at Greenhawk locations for $59.95. I purchased this as my gelding likes to cross his jaw and open it as he is being ridden.
Likes: I like that this product is elegant enough for showing. It is padded on the 2 portions of the noseband with leather. And padded on the centre disk with sheepskin. It also has a raised effect throughout the figure-8 portion. It supplies the correct fit for my 16.3hh TB gelding, and perfects it's purpose.
Dislikes: These nosebands are made a little larger. My 16.3hh gelding fits into a smaller hole on the adjusting cavesson piece, and fits all the way to the top on the chin strap, and the strap under his nose. If you have a smaller horse than this, a Cob may be your way to go.
Quality: The quality of this product is impeccable. The stitching is very tight and the leather is super. I love the sheepskin backing, as well as the padded effect. I have been searching for a figure-8 noseband that had a raised effect all around, and this is the only one I could find.
Summary: This is an awesome noseband. It does its job, and looks good doing it. Perfect for those faster paced riding disciplines like cross-country and show-jumping for horses that open or cross their jaw to evade an action of the bit. I recommend this noseband to everyone who asks about a quality figure-8!
