Purchase: I bought these boots at Christiansen's Saddlery in Loomis California for around $89. I use these boots for everything.
Likes: I have ridden in sneakers for years, but when my daughter and I decided to start endurance riding, she insisted I get a little more protection. These boots were originally named, "Tevis" which also meant we just had to have them. We live maybe 10 miles from the finish of that famous 100 miler.
These boots are so comfortable I often leave them on after riding. This is highly unusual for old beach bums like me who are happiest barefoot. I just don't notice them. The boots are light, flexible, and somehow cool.
Dislikes: The price is a little more than I like to pay. However I am only on my second pair in three years (wear them everywhere outdoorsy, for hiking and riding both). Sometimes they are scarce which panics me and makes me want to go out and buy a lifetime supply.
Quality: The boots are soft and flexible. The only reason I am on my second pair is that a new horse jumped right on the edge, ripping the leather. They would have lasted a lot longer without that happening. However I do need to add that my daughter somehow wears them out. I think she gets hers wetter than I do, because her horse is shorter and therefore legs hanging down hit the lake water sooner. There is a waterproof edition but they cost more so we stick with the plain ones.
Summary: Boots you can put on, lace up, and ride or walk off in. They can be dressed up with Ariat half-chaps to boot. I wish to be buried in these boots!
