Purchase: I had seen this crop at a local tack shop for a couple months. It cost me $25 which I thought would get me a nice crop I could use for years.
Likes: It had a nice leather/fake leather grip and it looked very nice. I loved how it felt in your hand and was just the right stiffness for me. It was a good length too.
Dislikes: The overall quality for the price IMO was horrible. I thought after shelling out five times the cost of a normal crop I would get something great. Before I even got the crop to the barn a lot of the paint had chipped off, even though I was very careful with it. It left big white marks on my black crop. After about 3 hours of using this whip in normal situations the black grip has turned an ugly bright red color. All the dye has rubbed off. I'm glad I wasn't wearing white gloves. And the last thing I was disappointed in was the lash. After about 6 hours of gentle use the lash had broken off. It was attached by a piece of brittle plastic that has broken very easily. Now the lash hangs off to one side, making it really throw the balance of this lightweight crop off.
Quality: The above pretty much sums it up.
Summary: I'm never going to buy one of their crops again. I wouldn't recommend them for anyone at any level of riding for any use. I'm very disappointed especially for the price I paid. I'm sticking to my cheapie $5 whips from now on.
