Purchase: I purchased this through Country Supply for roughly $18, although they have taken the price down. I wanted a set of my own farrier tools for emergencies.
Likes: The cost was reasonable, and I like the covered handles which make it more easy to work with.
Dislikes: This is the most difficult set of nippers around. You need the strength of a knight to cut with these, which I do not have. I have never successfully been able to make more than one cut with these nippers, and I threw mine away and bought myself a better set.
Quality: Cheap, lightweight, and dull materials make this piece practically useless. Not worth the cost, even as an emergency set to have around the barn "just in case" the farrier can't get out.
Summary: Not recommended at all. These were impossible to use even on my well-behaved animals. It was not the horse, it was entirely the nipper as my horses stood perfectly still on three feet and I struggled to make an indent in the hoof wall.
