Purchase: I have never bought one of these for myself but have acquired several as gifts. They run about $12.
Likes: Aesthetically, it is a nice looking mask.
Dislikes: I have not known a single horse, out of my own horses, the boarding stable I ran, or the therapeutic riding stable that I worked at, that was able to keep the mask on. If you put it on too tightly in an effort to keep it on it will rub the area under the noseband raw to the point of infection; horses can take them off each other and they tear very easily. Although it is a rather cheap mask, it is less durable than some imitation super masks that I have purchased that cost half as much. Usually, I see these last only a few weeks whereas some generics I have have lasted an entire season, and then some. It is also much shorter than most masks made nowadays, so does not cover much of the face, only the eyes.
Quality: Fleece lined noseband and ear holes. I have the masks without ears. Mesh face mask which is easy to see through but can rip and fray even on the most docile, laid-back horse.
Summary: I would not recommend this mask on any horse that is pastured in an area with trees, other horses, or wooden fences, as it snags and tears very easily. However, it is inexpensive and may be suitable for stalled horses or horses alone in high-tensile enclosures without trees or posts to rub on.
