Purchase: I needed a bit, and had versatility and effectivness. I need a kind bit that was not harsh. I ordered this bit from Dover Saddlery. I paid $160.00 for this bit.
Likes: This bit sends pressure to the nose, mouth, chin and poll. It sends a clear signal, yest allows me to keep a "soft" hand. Each bit you purchase with this company, they send you an instructional video tape. The video consists of information on how to use the bit, what each part is for, and tips for working your horse in the bit. the mouthpiece on the bit has a roller, this stimulates saliva, and pacifies nervous horses.
Dislikes: This bit is very bulky, and some horse tend to work better with a smaller more defined bit.
Quality: These bits are molded perfectly to fit any horses mouth. Unlike many bits, this bit does not pinch the sides of your horse's mouth, nor does it hit the roof of your horse's mouth. Everything that makes up the bit is humane, and made of only the most quality materials.
Summary: I love this bit for my hot thoroughbred mare. She is off the track, and responds more to the thicker and bulkier bits, like the combination bit. Although, my gelding does not like this bit, and works better with the finer bits. I get so much control from my horse in this bit, and she and I both perform better, when we know we are performing with it.
